Nintendo Partners with Tailgate Tour, Smash Ultimate to be Playable at Select Colleges

Nintendo has decided to broaden their horizons and bring Super Smash Bros. to the college gridiron this fall.

Nintendo has partnered with Wendy’s for the College Tailgate Tour to bring the game to several college students during one of the biggest fan experiences in football.

Doug Bowser, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, suggested that in some ways this is a love letter to longtime fans of the series. “Many of our biggest fans are now in college and have memories growing up playing one of the games in the Super Smash Bros. series. We want to bring Super Smash Bros. Ultimate directly to longtime and first-time players, and what better way than to combine two of college students’ favorite pastimes: video games and football.”

The overall setup will include a Smash-themed trailer with six Smash stations that will be parked outside select college football games this season. The list and dates are posted below. Be sure to buy your tickets early as college football just got even more enticing to attend.
