Special Events and checkpoints coming to Super Mario Maker

Nintendo has announced a new update for Super Mario Maker that is set to bring a number of requested features to the game.

One of the most asked for features in the game at the hands of creators will finally be coming to the game – Checkpoint flags. Those who want to make their levels extra difficult will now be able to do so knowing that they can plop in a tiny little flag whenever they want to give players some extra breathing room.

Special events will also be on their way in the update which will include various timed special events to cater around the holidays as well as special contests to see who can complete a level fastest. Various minor additions have also been tweaked and can all be seen in the announcement video below. The update goes live on November 4th only on Wii U
