Ben Schwartz would like a Sonic & Mario movie

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has officially hit theaters worldwide starring Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Idris Elba as Knuckles, and Keanu Reeves as Tails. The movie is expected to have its biggest opening weekend since the trilogy started in 2019 with the first Sonic movie. Since that was released we have also received the Super Mario Bros. Movie which starred Chris Pratt as Mario.

In a recent interview with Variety, Ben Schwartz was asked about a Sonic crossover movie that he’d like to see. The Sonic voice actor mentions that he loves Chris Pratt and what he did as Mario. Schwartz mentions that he would love to see a Super Smash Bros. spinoff, but obviously that would require a lot of partnerships.

Ben Schwartz mentioned that he would not be against a large movie that would bring multiple video game characters together such as Sonic, Zelda, Pikachu, and Mario.

“If you want to have a battle royale with a bunch of people we all love in video games, because I’m a video game nerd, I would not be against it. I would see if Paramount would let me go play. But I think that right now, it’s “Sonic 3” and if we can get to “Sonic 4” we have so much stuff we want to explore.”

Paramount Pictures have already confirmed that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will be releasing in Spring 2027 with plans already underway. Those who have seen the movie and saw the post-credit scenes will have a better idea for what’s in store for the next film.
