The Call of Duty esports scene is experiencing a transition as the league has become franchised just like how Overwatch has been the past few years now. Today, Activision announced more details on the Call of Duty League for 2020 including that it will feature 5v5 competition exclusively on PlayStation 4. The last detail was that there will be a total prize pool of over $6 million in the league.
“The professional competition will travel from city to city, featuring the best Call of Duty® esports players from around the globe battling for over $6 Million and the ultimate prize: The Call of Duty League Championship”
There will be a total of 12 teams to begin the franchised league. Here is each city listed below:
- New York
- Minnesota
- Atlanta
- Los Angeles (IGC)
- Los Angeles (KSE)
- Chicago
- Dallas
- Florida
- London
- Paris
- Seattle
- Toronto
The official names for the teams haven’t been revealed yet as well as the logos, but we’d expect to see more of that as we get closer to the new year.
