Now it’s been nearly a month since the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and the sales figures for the game’s physical editions are not looking so well for Activision and Infinity Ward.
Compared to Treyarch’s Call of Duty game Black Ops III last year, physical copies of infinite warfare dropped 50% in the month of November. This leads Activision Blizzard’s shares down 20% and not even meeting our expectations for sales, dropping short by 17%. EA has mentioned that digital game sales are 30% of the gaming industry’s sales, and due to the large amount of physical copies of Infinite Warfare will make it likely for the overall decline to easily dropped much lower than we think it is at the moment.
Activision have not returned calls asking questions on this matter.
