Most familiar, Electronic Arts does no different in rolling out annual installments for the Madden NFL franchise. This year is as you would expect with Madden NFL 24 coming later this August. For its cover athlete, Buffalo Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen stars on the packaging and will mark the first entry to feature full platform cross-play on console.
Additionally, Rectify Gaming went ahead to list the top 10 rated teams for the approaching Madden NFL 24. In that, the top three listed are Kansas City Chiefs at Rating 92, Philadelphia Eagles at Rating 91, and Buffalo Bills at Rating 90. Looking ahead, many fans are still anticipating the return of college football as EA & the CLC are partnering to deliver a return to school teams.
According to a recent update from Electronic Arts, the game is facing obstacles in the licensing work for the teams & players, says CEO Andrew Wilson. Thanks to Video Game Chronicles for transcribing the recent Q&A.
The team’s doing an incredible job building out what will be the future of College Football. Gameplay is really coming together, and really capturing all the action of pageantry, and the difference in college football versus the NFL. I feel really confident in what the team’s doing.
“We’re working through the license situation broadly – as of now, we’ve got many if not most of the schools licensed as part of our licensing platform. We’ll continue to work with the various governing bodies of the sport in the country, and some key third-party partners we have, around how and when to include college athletes themselves into the game, and we’ll work very closely with them.
“But I’m confident that this will be an incredible re-emergence of that college football experience, that it will capture all the action and pageantry, driven by the schools and all that goes on with the schools in the context of this game,” Wilson added. “And I do believe that we’ll find a place where we can work in lockstep with the athletes for inclusion in the game as well.”
