The ongoing joke surrounding Toby Fox’s Undertale has been an enjoyable gag that many users across the internet have indulged in since the game’s initial release, but more recently has grew due to the centered meme revolving around Sans the Skeleton. The joke eventually spilling into the ever growing list of characters that people would want to see in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Nintendo has listened.
Well not entirely actually. During the latest Nintendo Direct that aired this week, Nintendo revealed that San will be coming to the 2018 fighter, but as a costume for the Mii Fighters Costume Pack #3. Here are all the new costumes for the Mii Fighter trio:
- Mystical Ninja’s Goemon – Swordfighter
- Mega Man’s Proto Man – Gunner
- Mega Man X’s Zero – Swordfighter
- Pokémon’s Team Rocket – Brawler
- Undertale’s Sans – Gunner
While Sans debut for the game is not entirely what fans might have expected for ultimate, it is nice that Nintendo has been keeping a close ear to what the fanbase wants, or so they can be quiet about it. Spicing up the costume even more, Toby Fox’s score for Megalovania has been remixed by the game’s creator himself to suit the game’s respected soundtrack.
Announced at the same Nintendo Direct, Super Smash Bros. creator Mashahiro Sakurai revealed that Home-Run Content has returned as the last mode for Ultimate.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out now for Nintendo Switch.
