For decades, players have hoped that Capcom would revisit some of its dormant franchises. Although the firm most recently revealed both Okami & Onimusha are being rekindled once again, other IPs are still forgotten in time. One is Dino Crisis. Previously, many did anticipate the gateway to such would be Exoprimal. But, the firm did go on to confirm there is no connection between both universes.
In February 2024, the firm did poll if fans would be interested in remakes for titles in its repertoire. Among those was Dino Crisis. However, fans are still awaiting a proper confirmation on a new title. This past October, Dino Crisis was added to PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. However, It would be through the ‘PlayStation Classics’ which required a subscription to play.
This week, GoG.com announced Dino Crisis as well as Dino Crisis 2 is coming to its storefront. The announcement comes as part of its Game Preservation Program. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“Three years ago. A scientist died in an accident during an experiment. His research was on Third Energy,’ a completely clean energy source. The accident occurred just as government funding had been cut off because the project was deemed unfeasible. To the public, it was nothing more than an insignificant piece of information. Until now,” the synopsis for Dino Crisis offers.
“A year has passed since the operation to retrieve Dr. Kirk. Third Energy, both a source of ‘ultimate clean energy’ and a potential “ultimate weapon,” has proven to be dangerously unpredictable. The government, having taken control of the project from Dr. Kirk, continued its development. Then, the ‘accident’ happened once again,” the Dino Crisis 2 description reads.
