
It has been rumored that Sony Interactive Entertainment has been making a Horizon MMO. Today, The Verge leaked that the Horizon MMO is officially titled ‘Horizon Steel Frontiers‘. Sony and NCSoft are working on this spin-off together.
The outlet was able to see a 10-minute video featuring cinematic and pre-alpha gameplay footage. They mentioned that the game will have a heavy focus on fighting the giant mechanical beasts from the Horizon series alongside other players.
In the developer interview shown in the video obtained by The Verge, Guerrilla Games studio director Jan-Bart van Beek says, “Horizon Steel Frontiers is a full-fledged MMORPG that NCSoft built specifically for mobile”.
Images were also leaked of Horizon Steel Frontiers. They were shared on a website used to share assets that press and influencers are able to use. It could have been posted early ahead of a potential announcement at G-Star 2025 in Korea tonight.
Horizon Steel Frontiers is planned to release on PC, iOS, and Android. A release window has not been obtained yet. It’s unknown if a PlayStation release will come in the future for this project.
