Publisher Skybound Entertainment and developers Broken Mirror Games and Rock Square Thunder released a new story trailer for I Hate This Place and announced it will be released on January 29, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
The new story trailer for I Hate This Place gives us a quick taste of the twisted tale that takes place on Rutherford Ranch. The game previously had a release date for November 7, 2025, but the developer wanted a little more time to make changes due to community feedback.
“We had a lot of good feedback gathered from events like PAX, Gamescom, Tokyo Gameshow, and then from our recent public demo on Steam. The vision for the game stays the same, but this feedback highlighted a few tweaks or features that would really help the game feel just that much better. As we got closer and closer to release, we had to keep moving many of these additions to post-launch support. But we feel the game deserves to make a good first impression so we rethought things and together with Broken Mirror Games decided to move the date to January 2026. We know it’s last-minute, but we hope fans will understand. We’re doing a multiplatform launch, so if we want to get these changes in and tested on all versions, we’d need a few more weeks.” – Janusz Tarczykowski, Game Director, Rock Square Thunder.
