When progressing closer to the arrival of the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 launch in 2020 just a few months prior, product availability was not the only issue at hand for anticipated consumers. Atop of scouring the Earth for an open listing on major retailers, fans were also concerned as to where they will fit both next-generation consoles when they finally bring it to their home.

Granted, the Xbox Series S is a small and welcomed addition that frets no mind if picking one up, but its much larger sibling Xbox Series X stands (literally) to be a problem when fitting into an entertainment center. It is possible to just sit the unit on its side, but the most efficient way is propped up. And with the opposing PlayStation 5, the device is even larger than its counterpart which draws more worries as well.

Thankfully coming from a new discovery over on from JFP1 on Imgur, there is the possibility that you can think ahead with future furniture purchases at IKEA. The Swedish furnishing manufacturer apparently holds cardboard models of both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 to determine what furniture is best suited for the consoles.

“Which IKEA media storage unit will be able to fit my new, meme-ishly oversized, gaming console?” the side of the model reads for the cardboard PlayStation 5. Although it is a minor inconvenience with plenty of other real issues at hand, it is appreciated that IKEA recognized how troubling and a nuisance it might be if one of these consoles won’t fit in the player’s respected entertainment center.

IKEA is also aware of the overinflated prices for gaming-centered furniture and is working with ASUS’ Republic of Gamers to conjure a new line of affordable furniture in the future. Not giving any images on the coming line, it is told there will be approximately 30 pieces of furniture. You can read the full report by heading here.

Are you happy IKEA is supplying dummy cardboard models at its stores?
