
Looking into the release itinerary for 2025, there are a number of titles that are to grow hype immensely for fans for certain franchises. Rectify Gaming cultivated a list of entries set to launch this year including Doom: The Dark Ages & Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Among that list, Monster Hunter Wilds is another highly-anticipated title that fans argue might be worthy alongside the others.
Hosting not one, but two open playtests, Capcom is for sure ensuring a smooth release for Monster Hunter Wilds. Especially when fans return for the second beta should say something premature for the reception come release. And, there are even themed PlayStation 5 accessories to celebrate the new game. Granted, only available in Asia.
Thus far, Monster Hunter Wilds has already faced more than a million users on Steam for its concurrent player count. And now a new milestone has been set for Capcom with the release of Monster Hunter Wilds. A new press release reveals that Monster Hunter Wilds shipped more than 8 million units in just three days.
“Following the game’s announcement, Capcom promoted the appeal of Monster Hunter Wilds to a broad audience worldwide, exhibiting the title at global video game events and holding an online open beta test to give many players a chance to try it, while also providing updates on game information via the online events such as Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase. As a result of these continuous global initiatives, Monster Hunter Wilds has evoked massive excitement and achieved sales of 8 million units in 3 days, the fastest any game has done so in Capcom’s history,” the press release reads.
And, this is not the first achievement that Capcom has set for the industry. With the release of Street Fighter VI, it was discovered that on Steam the game is the most-played title for its genre on the platform. You can read the full report by heading here.
