Remember the era of the Xbox 360? Most of the industry reflects on the time period for Microsoft’s video game division to be the “Golden Age” for Xbox compared to the state it is in now. And while the firm does appear to be in a better standing than it did compared to the last console cycle, there is plenty of room to improve still – namely the first-party sector for the time being.
Well, Microsoft recently made a statement in regards to Xbox 360, and it is not the most appealing details to come from the Xbox firm. In an email sent to multiple Xbox Live Gold users, the company is pulling the plug on those legacy titles starting this October for its monthly free game program. Moving forward, Xbox One and presumed Xbox Series titles will be at the forefront for Xbox Live Games with Gold.
For those that might have missed in June, the firm in on a sidenote to the Xbox + Bethesda Showcase that month also felt nostalgic for the Xbox 360. On Twitter, the company revealed some classic gamerpics are being remade with the addition of some new images too.
The most iconic happens to be the Bubble Gum image with a new coat of paint. Additionally, the Giggling Panda and classic Xbox Blades also received similar treatment in the new addition on the Dashboard. Atop of that, there are some Starfield gamerpics that users can also don in anticipation for the title coming sometime later in 2023 early next year.
As for other Xbox 360 appreciation, Microsoft as part of the 20th Anniversary Celebration teamed up with Adidas for The Xbox 360 Forum Mid. The sneakers were revealed back in November 2020 and was priced at $160 at the time. You can read the full report by heading here.
