Microsoft Confirms Xbox Game Pass Family & Friends Plan Including Perks And Pricing

So who here has Xbox Game Pass? And an extension to that question, who here pays for Xbox Game Pass? For some users, they simply have the service available through system link as another user pays for the subscription. Well, Microsoft is looking to bolster the service with a family plan in mind. First reported back in March, Xbox Game Pass would incorporate a new tier option to include up to five accounts.

At the time, word did not break out on the pricing for the service, but many users were in favor of the updated tier coming to Xbox Game Pass. Later this summer, Microsoft did a soft launch of the new move in both Ireland & Colombia to test the waters for Xbox Game Pass. This would be patient zero for the new family plan ahead of releasing in regions like North America & the U.K.

Recently, Microsoft on its Xbox Game Pass website for Ireland listed the ‘Xbox Game Pass Family & Friends’ plan confirming previous leaks and also providing the pricing for the new tier. You can read the full list of perks from the subscription below:

“There are two kinds of Friends & Family plan members: The primary account holder is responsible for payments and the only member able to add other users to the group membership, while secondary group members are added and/or removed by the primary member,” Microsoft explains in the FAQ for the Xbox Game Pass Family & Friends plan.

The Xbox firm goes on to explain that the service when more widespread is only functioning with users within your region. Additionally, account holders can be in one group at a time. As for those that join, you can be added to two plans per year. “Only the primary account holder can share their Game Pass benefits via home sharing. Group members cannot share with other accounts on their console.”
