HoloLens have been getting alot of attention since they have been announced last year by Microsoft, and for good reason. If you don’t know what the HoloLens are (are you sleeping under a rock?) it is a virtual reality headgear. Microsoft took notice that VR is a big topic that the public likes. They also took notice that other companies are making products for the demand of the technology like the Oculus Rift and the Playstation Morpheus. For a big company like Microsoft to make a product like this you can imagine that their VR gear is going to be top of the line.
Microsoft has reportedly manufactured 3,000 of their headsets which is also running a version of Windows 10
Translated from Spanish ( Windows Insider )
“The latest news we have seen indicates that there are about three thousand HoloLens units manufactured. Their software is Windows 10, version 10586.63, according to the latest data, and all signs indicate that these kits would be the first development kits to be sent to developers.”
Microsoft have announced that they will be realizing developer kits in the first quarter of 2016 so expect them soon. The HoloLens development kits are expected to be priced around $3000. With these kits you “should” be able to develop apps and games has shown at a HoloLens presentation showing off Minecraft.
