While the IP has sustained a steady flow of games from Crash Bandicoot N’ Sane Trilogy & Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled, fans are always hungry for more. And with that came the official fourth installment ‘Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time’. So where does this lead for the franchise now? Well, it is still unclear the direction to head first.
For one, it is considered a new Spyro game could be up first. In the official Art Book for the latest Crash Bandicoot title, it pokes at the fan-favorite purple dragon which could suggest a new installment could be on the horizon. Additionally, there were reports of a TV show for both Crash Bandicoot & Spyro the Dragon, but the pair were both shot down after notable reporters denounced the rumors then.
Howbeit, there will likely be a reveal come this Thursday. According to the official Crash Bandicoot Twitter, the franchise asks its followers “So… what’s everyone doing tomorrow?” one day before The Game Awards.
This would not be the first time that host Geoff Keighley managed to obtain the first to unveil a new game for the series. Back in June 2020, Keighley’s first Summer Game Fest was the platform to showcase ‘Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. The same can also be said for Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled came The Game Awards 2018 also.
This is not the only sudden leak that pointed towards this week’s The Game Awards. One Twitter user released a Gears of War x Fall Guys crossover which has yet to be announced. Similarly, there is a Twitch viewer reward that will offer a skin for an unannounced crossover for the show. You can read the full report by heading here.
