Among many of the exciting mobile announcements that Nintendo made earlier today for the Pokémon franchise like Pokémon Café Mix or the lighter Pokémon Smile, one addition that many already existing fans are eager for is the arrival for mega evolution for Pokémon Go. While the game has been continuously updated since its debut back in 2016, the title has yet to receive the feature to extend evolving Pokémon like in the mainline series.
During today’s Pokémon Presents presentation, Nintendo unveiled a short teaser that mega evolution is currently underway for Pokémon Go later on this year. You can watch the brief teaser in the video below:
“Mega Evolution is coming to Pokémon Go. We are to deliver a new take on mega evolution that is enhanced by Pokémon Go’s unique gameplay,” The Pokémon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara stated following the announcement.
It is expected that Nintendo alongside developer Niantic will spare more meaty details on the coming update for Pokémon Go’s addition for mega evolution in the coming weeks. Perhaps the reveal for Generation 6 Pokémon will also make its debut too since Generation 5 have been out for the mobile game since last September already.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Niantic has announced Remote Raid Passes to allow players to engage in high-intense raids without having to break social distancing precautions. You can read the full report by heading here.
