So far, 2026 has been a fairly disruptive year when it comes to Fortnite. It was gathered back in April this year that major changes are coming to Epic Games’ live-service. For one, layoffs arrived with over 1,000 employees affected. Not only that, V-Bucks would also face changes with a new conversion to how much is obtained with real-time currency. Also three game modes are to close this year: Ballistic, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival Battle.

Onto better news for Fortnite, there were some exciting additions to the battle royale. In its Festival party game, vocal singing was officially implemented into the mode alongside pre-existing instruments. That same month, the original ‘Save The World’ premium mode that introduced the Fortnite universe did go free-to-play officially as well.

Now with May already in its second week, Epic Games reveals a new collaboration is here with Chapter 7 Season 2: Act III – Overwatch. You can watch the gameplay trailer in the video below:

“The heroes of Overwatch have arrived in Battle Royale, Zero Build, Reload, and Blitz to answer the Foundation’s call for reinforcements against the Ice King,” Epic Games writes. “Busan Sanctuary, Hanamura Courtyard, King’s Row Tower, and bases inspired by Watchpoint: Gibraltar are now on the BR Island. Recruit Overwatch allies like Genji and D.Va, and fight with Overwatch loot like Tracer’s Pulse Pistols and Mercy’s Caduceus Staff.

“At King’s Row Tower, a Payload spawns each match after it unlocks in the Showdown, rewarding Overwatch loot to everyone who escorts it home.” It continues: “Tracer, Mercy, Genji, and D.Va Outfits will be available in the Shop on May 14 with matching accessories and LEGO Styles. You can also pick up the Overwatch Porsche Cayenne EV bundle with 4 custom Decals and a custom Wheels set.”
