SEGA made 2024 be the year of Shadow bringing content to already released games as well as releasing Shadow Generations alongside the release of Sonic 3. PlatinumGames posted on Sunday evening that 2025 is the 15th Anniversary of the Bayonetta franchise that started in 2010.
The company said, “We have a few things in store to celebrate this milestone so keep your eyes peeled”. They also said they are making 2025 into a year of celebration.
PlatinumGames also released a statement saying they will continue to create games that will surprise their fans.
“Moving forward, we will continue to take on new challenges to create games that surprise and delight our fans. We look forward to your continued support of Bayonetta and PlatinumGames!”
This message likely has to do with Hideki Kamiya leaving the studio over a year ago and re-joining Capcom to work on Okami 2. Fans have been concerned about PlatinumGames since one of its founders left, but the studio has made it clear they will continue to create more games.
2025 is also going to be the year of the Nintendo Switch 2 which is anticipated to be revealed very soon and released in the first half of the year. Could PlatinumGames have a project in store for the Switch 2?
