PlayStation 4 passes 35.9 million units worldwide, PS Plus subs up 60 per cent year over year

Sony has just announced that PlayStation 4 console sales have passed 35.9 million units sold worldwide as of the 3rd of January 2016. Sony last announced PlayStation 4 console sales at the end of November 2015 where the system was at 30.2 million, so in 5 weeks Sony sold 5.7 million units, and while Microsoft no longer reports hardware numbers, we do know that both consoles are selling a lot faster then the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 did at the same point, which is great to see. Sony also announced that PlayStation Plus subs are up 60 per cent year over year.  Andrew House Sony Computer Entertainment had this to say “ We remain steadfast in our commitment to deliver innovative entertainment experiences” with games such as Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Horizon Zero Dawn  and more out this year, along with PlayStation VR, I’d say this will be a great year for PlayStation owners.
