Report: Sony To Share Next PlayStation 5 Announcement Later This Month

Yesterday, while fans did grow excited to learn that Sony Interactive Entertainment would be hosting its previously reported State of Play presentation this week. However, the understand of the contents were a little underwhelming once discovering that the firm will be expanding on the PlayStation 4 platform and the extended PlayStation VR library.

Although the firm did share it would brush slightly against the idea of some PlayStation 5 details, it would not expand on elements that many stride towards these livestream showcases. In that, the firm disclosed that there will be no first-party announcements or already-revealed projects that will be present during the feature this Thursday.

Howbeit, that does not negate the possibility of there being a separate presentation to take place following the State of Play scheduled for the coming days. Bloomberg recently reports that Sony is underway to host an announcement of sorts regarding the PlayStation 5 in the coming weeks for August.

An official at the PlayStation unit, who asked to be unidentified because the plan is not yet public, said Sony’s next announcement regarding the PlayStation 5 is tentatively scheduled for this month.

But as you can collect from the report, the contents of the aforementioned announcement was not spared. While the publication does expand further on the structured business model for PlayStation 5 regarding the standard and Digital Edition of the next-generation console, that does not insinuate the chances of pricing to be disclosed for the coming presentation.

But perhaps the previously reported projects slated for the PlayStation 5 is in order for the announcement instead. Properties such as Bloodborne which many industry pundits previously put in favor to be legitimate. Or even the claim of the God of War sequel which was initially told to take place during the coming State of Play slated for this week.
