Jagex appeared at Summer Game Fest, revealing RuneScape: Dragonwilds will come to XBOX Series X|S in addition to PS5 and PC on September 15, 2026. While the game has been in Early Access, it will exit Early Access and release on PC the same day.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds had a successful Early Access on Steam, surpassing 1 million sales since its release.
“Our community has been at the heart of RuneScape: Dragonwilds from day one,”said Jesse America, Executive Producer of RuneScape: Dragonwilds. “Every update throughout Early Access has been shaped by player feedback, and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built together. Launching 1.0 this September is a huge milestone for the team, and we’re excited to continue growing RuneScape: Dragonwilds with players for years to come.”
This marks the first time RuneScape will be playable on consoles in its 25-year history. Although it’s not Old School RuneScape, it’s still the same world.
Below is an overview of the game via Jagex:
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is an open-world, co-op, crafting and survival game, and the first standalone title to join Jagex’s iconic medieval MMORPG franchise, selling over one million copies during its early access period. Players embark solo or in teams of four across Gielinor’s previously unexplored continent of Ashenfall, on an epic quest to discover why untamed, transformative magic spills across the fractured land.
Through the power of magic that flows through the anima-rich landscape, players can not only obtain powerful spells to get them through battles, but find their practical uses as well, as they collect items and craft things to help them throughout their journey. In this land riddled with fierce dragons, players must level up skills, prepare potions, and craft gear, as they carve a path through these ferocious beasts and make their way to the Dragon Queen herself.
