Refreshing from the announcement back in February, Samsung announced to be creating a new partnership with Microsoft to elaborate Xbox platform initiatives and services to Samsung devices in the coming future. At the time of the reveal, the two parties emphasized the new collaboration to bring Project xCloud support to the growing lineup of Samsung smart phones in the near future.

However, in a new announcement, Samsung reveals the first segment of this new agreement with Microsoft through other means. Instead of the expected Project xCloud integration for the firm’s line of smart devices, we are instead told that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be supported for select Samsung televisions.

Announcing Samsung Access, the firm tells that this new package of applications and services will be available for the new line of TVs offered by the company. This new initiative will include the television of choice, listed services, and premium Care which offers consumer protection listing set-up and coverage for electrical breakdowns and other issues faced.

With Samsung Access, you get your choice of a streaming or gaming service (up to a $120 value), included at no additional cost. Choose from Showtime, Sling TV, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, YouTube Music Premium, YouTube Premium or YouTube TV.²

On Microsoft’s side of operations, we have witnessed an extreme influx of users entertaining themselves with Xbox Game Pass. While not entirely Xbox Game Pass Ultimate entirely, the firm shared recently that Xbox Game Pass as a whole has accumulated 10 million subscribers since the founding of the service in 2017. Now, the subscription will span from consoles to PC and now even television.

While Xbox Game Pass is not the first to jump to television support as PlayStation Now is also a competing factor alongside Google’s stream-based platform Stadia, Microsoft will be entering on a high note primarily due to currently dominating the battlefield thanks to its achievement revealed previously.

In anticipation for the arrival for June, Microsoft shared the next addition of titles for Xbox Game Pass for the remainder of May. This includes Alan Wake, Cities: skylines, and Minecraft Dungeons. You can read the full report by heading here.
