
The presence in gaming from Paramount Studios is apparent to say the least. The firm has been a pressing firm within adaptations with the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog for years now. Its latest production, Sonic the Hedgehog 4, plans to release later in spring 2027. There is also the recent release this week of the Paramount+ animated show for Among Us that just hit the streamer.
As for games, the most notable is Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. In the past, the game did receive a sizeable delay last year which pushed the game to release sometime in 2026. However, things at Skydance New Media which now left the game at a more pressing time of release. It was reported in November that the game was delayed once more. This time, there is no date confirmed for it suggesting it might even be aiming for 2027 potentially.
This week, Paramount Studios & Skydance Media have confirmed a new banner for its video game effort is formed moving forward: Paramount Games Studio. This was already suggested in the recent announcement for PlatinumGames’ TMNT: The Last Ronin. This new ambition came with the fusing of Skydance Interactive & Skydance New Media.
“This division launch marks a meaningful evolution in how we think about games – not as an extension of our business, but as a core pillar of our content strategy alongside film, television, and streaming. We are committed to creating exceptional games for every type of player, from casual to AAA, and building enduring experiences across our beloved Paramount IP and original worlds that deepen fan engagement and drive long-term growth,” Paramount Game Studio president Tony Driscoll says.
Other internal shakeups for leadership at Paramount Game Studio was also reported by Variety. It was said that former Naughty Dog veteran Amy Hennig is now appointed studio creative director. Notable leadership from Skydance such as Dan Prigg is now executive vice president, head of games whilst Shawn Kittlesen is now senior vice president, head of creative & production.
