It was not too long ago that we learned of AMD’s presentation at this year’s annual Consumer Entertainment Show (CES) event earlier in January which supposedly leaked the back ports that will be equipped on this holiday’s Xbox Series X console. However, it was swiftly debunked by Microsoft that the 3D render which was presented was a dud that AMD actually purchased online from a third-party.
Despite the unfortunate news which left fans in the dark, Thurrott’s Brad Sams did some digging of his own with people involved with the hardware’s development to clarify that the false model is similar to the actual product. Disclosing that the back will hold 2 USB-A ports, Ethernet, an S/PDIF port.
Now in a new surfacing image that emerged just this week, it looks that we finally have a real look at what the next generation Xbox will offer. Uploaded by Twitter user @Doug_DragoX shows the Series X on the floor showing both the front and back of the console. You can view the images in the tweet below:
Getting a glance at the back for a little bit, the image does hold tangible details to suggest the image being legitimate over prior leaks. In fact, traits provided like the serial number for instance is one atop of one port shown on the back. Identifying the 2 USB ports, Ethernet, and S/PDIF which Sams stated previously, there is one that many users could not determine which simultaneously confirms the legitimacy of the images.
The elongated port that runs adjacent to the Ethernet is said to be a debug port that developer kits of the console will have, says Direct-Feed Games. Another critically confirming characteristic on the backend of the unit is the port for the power cable which is evidently branded with the ‘Xbox’ logo just to its left.
Ultimately, while the images do hold to look authentic for this year’s Xbox, do not reference these with the final product. As like anything that is being continuously tweaked during the development phase, things could still change leading up to the official debut of the respected tech.
Are you satisfied with this updated rumor on the back ports for the Xbox Series X?
Xbox Series X is slated to launch in holiday 2020.
