The Game Awards 2021: Cuphead DLC ‘The Delicious Last Course’ Arrives In June 2022

While the release date of Cuphead already arrived back in September 2017, fans of the platform bullet hell still gawk at the creative decisions made for the game as you get enamored by the hand-drawn 1930’s art style and unique cast of characters and foes you face throughout the course of the experience. However, there has been a promised DLC for the game for more than three years now.

Officially named ‘The Delicious Last Course’ introduces a new isle for you to explore and fight new foes, of course. But more exciting is the new playable Ms. Chalice that brings new combat to the game. While 2019 was the originally scheduled window for the add-on, Studio MDHR went on to push the DLC to 2020 the year following. But even then, that was not proper enough with 2021 later on being the projected release window.

However, The Game Awards might have broken that pattern. In a new trailer for Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course reveals that the DLC is officially arriving in June 2022. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:

“Cuphead – The Delicious Last Course sees Cuphead and Mugman setting sail for “D.L.C. Isle”, an untamed and previously undiscovered island off the coast of the main Inkwell Isles. In true Cuphead fashion, however, they find that the island is host to a new cast of fearsome, larger than life bosses, all of whom are tied to a quest they must undertake on behalf of the jubilant and jolly Chef Saltbaker,” Maja Moldenhauer, Studio MDHR Chief Operating Officer gives for the DLC’s overview.

“And at the centre of this brand new quest? A completely new playable character, Ms. Chalice. As some of our longest running and most passionate Cuphead fans, Xbox players will surely recognize her as The Legendary Chalice – the wise spectral being who can be found in the original game’s mausoleum stages, where she gifts you the powerful Super Arts.”

Since the inception of the Cuphead IP, we witnessed the game expand to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Mii Fighter costume, and even Tesla vehicles.
