It’s no secret that EA is working on a new Battlefield game as they will end support for Battlefield 2042 after Season 7. EA CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed via earnings call he played an early build of the next game in the series and said he couldn’t be more excited.
Andrew Wilson also goes on to say the next Battlefield will be a “tremendous live service”.

The next Battlefield will not be released in EA’s Fiscal Year 2025 that ends March 31 and it’s more likely we could see it come out during FY26, instead. It wasn’t too long ago that EA announced the closing of Ridgeline Games, the developers of Battlefield single-player, and moved the work to Criterion.
It had already been reported the next Battlefield game will be free-to-play and will feature a battle royale mode. Andrew’s comments about this being a live service game do not come as a surprise since it was their goal all along. The future Battlefield title is described to be a reimagination of the series.
