Just earlier this month, developer Toys for Bob unveiled the long-awaited new entry for the Crash bandicoot series. Confirming this new release to be the fourth entry, It’s About Time will indulge fans old and new with platforming fun and new gameplay elements that expand on the traditional formula. Even more, there are new playable characters as well such as the series long antagonist, Dr. Cortex.
However, fans began to grow skeptical when giving a closer look to the game’s listing on the Microsoft Store. In that, followers discovered the game shared to offer “in-app purchases” which insinuates that some form of microtransactions will be in the game. However, it did not take long for the game’s developer to speak on the matters.
In a post on Twitter, Toys for Bob debunks the speculation by declaring that Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will not feature any type of microtrasactions in the full game when it releases later this fall.
Delving deeper into the controversy that the game’s following laid out, Toys for Bob continued by sharing that the advertised cosmetics for the game is only unique to players who pay for the respected version. So fans that decide on purchasing the digital version of the game will be gifted the Tubular Skins for both Crash and Coco once in possession of It’s About Time.
However, while the claim was made about the additional purchases that can be made in-game, it is unclear what that exactly entails: Toys for Bob fails to include what the listed purchases could be. But going off of conjecture as for what the team plans to add, perhaps the game will face additional content levels or mission packs later on which the listing insinuates.
Are you happy with Toys for Bob clarifying on the microtransactions for its new project?
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will be out on October 2, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
