The Xbox One isn’t just dominating in the United States, but it turns out in the United Kingdom the console is beating the PlayStation 4 by 25K units. for October 2016, tracking firm GfK has revealed. In September 2016, the Xbox One was #1 in the UK by 1,500 units, so that was a big jump from the previous month.
In October, 177,700Â units were sold overall for consoles, with the Xbox One holding a 56% share (99,496), the PS4 a 42% share (74,630), and the Wii U a 2% share (3,550).
Thanks to our fans, Xbox One was the best-selling console in October, the second month in a row in the UK, according to GfK Entertainment.
It’s great to see such enthusiasm for the new Xbox One S range of consoles including FIFA 17, Gears of War 4, Battlefield 1 and now – for the first time – Minecraft. All of which are available to purchase now. Xbox UK Marketing Director Harvey Eagle said.
According to retailer GAME, combined PS4 and Xbox One sales in the UK were at 5.1 million as of January 23, 2016, and three million of that came from the PS4. So the Xbox One still has some catching up to do, but they are starting to rise lately as Xbox has won 3 months in a row in NPD. The PlayStation 4 Pro is set to launch on November 10th and it could put a tough test to Xbox in November.
