2020’s Summer Games Done Quick Pushed To August, Corona Relief Online Stream Scheduled For Mid April

We have already witnessed it once earlier this month as Informa Tech, the organizers behind the Game Developers Conference (GDC), decided to postpone the initially scheduled event in March for a later show in August in the latter of 2020. And now the same instance looks to be happening with this coming Summer Games Done Quick.

According to a new update post from Games Done Quick, due to the tensions of the continuously growing concerns surrounding the novel coronavirus, the organizers have decided to push the date of the initial June scheduled event. Instead, the annual speedrunning show will take place in mid August as a precaution to ensure current inflictions from the virus has been properly contained before the start of the event later on.

The organizers for the event went on to confirm that snippets of for Sumer Games Done Quick 2020 will instead be released throughout the course of June. On June 6, the attending game list will be disclosed and the following day until July 20th is the approximate timeframe for speedrunners to register for the show.

Regarding the accompanied hosts and volunteers for the event, they will have to reapply for their respect roles. Applications can be submitted starting April 29 until May 9 the following month. The selection will then be made one June 5th followed by the scheduling for the event volunteers on July 6th.

While fans and participants will have to wait a few extra months, Games Done Quick did go on to announced the Corona Relief Done Quick (CRDQ). This new event is in efforts to battle the troubles that those less fortunate and hindered by the pandemic that is currently ongoing. The show will instead be an online livestream which will commence on April 17 and running until April 19. Applications for the online show will go live on April 2nd.
