When reviewing the Halo: The Master Chief Collection library, the bundle of titles surely is impressive to say the least. That including future additions that were made after the anthology’s arrival back in 2014. With the addition of Halo 3: ODST Firefight and Halo 3: ODST on PC in the last month, it looks that developer 343 Industries is reaching the end of the roadmap for expansive additions to the project.

While 2012’s Halo 4 is out for console, users on Steam & Windows 10 are still awaiting the addition of 343 Industries’ inaugural release. Howbeit, fans still are hopeful there is more to be arriving later on. While it has not been done on Xbox, users still are praying that there is the possibility to see Halo 5: Guardians in the bundle to complete the package.

But despite what many are still very hopeful to witness, the chances are not looking so bright. In a new Halo Waypoint blog post, 343 Industries’ Community Manager John Junyszek confirms that the 2015 installment is not on the menu for Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

We’re rapidly approaching Halo 4 flighting and we plan on inviting every eligible, registered Halo Insider. Much like our other flights, on top of the obvious addition of an entirely new title, there should be plenty of new features and improvements – like the potential addition of crossplay – to get your hands on. This is the last Halo title we currently have planned for the collection (sorry to crush your Halo 5 in MCC dreams), so let’s finish strong!

As gathered from the statement, Junyszek does suggest the likeliness of Halo 5: Guardians is not on its side in regards to join the remaining titles included in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Additionally, he does spare there is a fair chance to finally witness full-on cross-platform play support hit the anthology in the coming testflight.

Back in July, 343 Industries did disclose the feature would be present by the year’s end. The update that includes cross-play is also said to be bundled with other requested elements such as a custom game browser and even mouse & keyboard support for console. Do you believe there is no chance for Halo 5: Guardians to hit Halo: The Master Chief Collection?
