The Five Nights at Freddy’s property continues to grow as the series makes an appearance during today’s PlayStation 5 showcase. While brief, developer Steel Wool Studios – responsible for virtual reality title Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted – announces a new entry in the evergrowing series. Revealing Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach, the game offers a glimpse at the title with in-game scenes of the new setting.

While not much can be spared on the details surrounding the new game’s plot, Steel Wool Studios shares that this new setting featured is ‘Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizza Plex’. You can watch the teaser trailer in its entirety in the video below:

More than two years ago, series creator Scott Cawthon shared some projections for the Five Nights at Freddy’s roadmap ahead. That including console versions for the current entries out at the time as well as more on the situation for the motion picture deal, Cawthon also discloses a potential AAA project as well. And looking at the trailer, this might be exactly what he was referencing back in 2018.

“Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach brings its Indie Dev spirit and combines it with cutting edge gaming technology. We are taking the franchise to the next level on the PlayStation 5,” Steel Wool Studios’ Co-Founder Andrew Dayton spares on the new project. “The PlayStation 5’s next-gen technology enhances the fear and tension beyond what’s been possible before.

“Real-time ray tracing graphics ups the visual fidelity and brings the Animatronics to life like never before. Feel the fear surround you with PlayStation 5’s immersive 3D Audio. Utilizing the lightning fast new SSD technology, the pace of terror is never interrupted.” More recently, Cawthon announced a new initiative to provide assistance to community-fueled fan projects.
