Looking at how Assassin’s Creed Valhalla performed, it appears that developer Ubisoft Montreal has to maintain its momentum with its post-launch plans following the game’s late October release. In an announcement from the publisher, Ubisoft discloses that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla welcomed more than double the number of players that entered Assassin’s Creed Odyssey at launch.
As to what the game studio promised, the most anticipated is the coming story expansion, Wrath of the Druids. Set in Ireland, Eivor and the Raven Clan move over to the island to win the trust of the Gaelic Kings that rule the region. Initially promised for a late April release, Ubisoft unfortunately could not keep its end of the bargain it appears.
In a new announcement on Twitter recently, Ubisoft shares that the Wrath of the Druids will not be shipping this month. Instead, the ass-on is now planned to be delivered on May 13 the month following.
Additionally, Ubisoft while unable to disclose at the time for the reasoning of the delay has insisted to be drafting a piece as to why and its future plans on transparency with its consumer base. “We’re working on an article to provide transparency and share insights on our dev process,” the post reads.
As to what else fans can anticipate from Ubisoft, the publisher announced to be hosting its next Ubisoft Forward presentation later this June. The virtual conference will be in conjunction with the June-scheduled E3 show being held online; which the Electronic Software Association (ESA) confirmed Ubisoft to be present.
