Publisher Electronic Arts is setting course for a new future ahead with ownership being handed to a new private investor. In 2025, it was revealed that the firm as part of a $55 billion deal would be purchased and understood a new direction is being mapped out for the firm. One instance is that it fixed an extension of its deal with Madden so annual NFL releases are to remain until 2030.

All things considered, the company is looking to establish a steady business model for Electronic Arts with the new ownership soon to take the reins. In June, it was revealed that Electronic Arts is prepared to kickstart a new initiative as part of its established EA Advertising to integrate advertisements into its titles; namely sports titles.

Players come to EA’s games and live experiences every day to play, watch, create and connect. That gives brands a meaningful opportunity to show up in ways that add value and respect the player experience, while maintaining authenticity in the worlds our teams are building. With EA Advertising, we’re helping brands become part of those moments in ways that are relevant and built for players.

Elsewhere recently, vice president of advertising and sponsorship Alexander Deo spoke to The Game Business revealing that it intends to have games launch with this implementation in after the groundwork is laid out. “Most of the games that have been around for a while- building the advertising experiences really kind of retrofitting it back in.

“But as you think about new games that are coming out, as you think about, you know, free-to-play experiences that are happening on the console side you know, we launched our Skate game. Those are opportunities where if actually design them with the right advertising and brand experience in there from the get-go, it just makes it easier. It makes it feel more native. It creates more flexibility in the types of brands that can come in and out.”

Deo continues: “It’s part of the reason why we launched our ad platform because as we create new experiences in addition to the existing titles, it allows us to bring brands in- in a much flexible, creative, and dynamic way.” Elsewhere previously, Ubisoft is following the same path with its titles as part of a partnership with Anzu revealed in 2024.
