Leading up to this past Tuesday’s Nintendo E3 Direct, many fans were anticipating new reiterations on beloved Nintendo properties. Already, it was presumed that the chances were high for a new 2D-oriented Metroid title is on the way. And, it was later revealed that the title is a return to the long-forgotten Metroid Dread which was originally announced for the Nintendo DS at the time.
Alongside many presumptions that a new version of the Nintendo Switch was to be shared fairly soon, it would only be at the Nintendo Direct this week which would indicate what new announcements that the Japanese firm has planned. However, the most left field announcement that the firm made happened to be a reboot for Advanced Wars.
In a new partnership with developer WayForward (Shantae and the Seven Sirens), Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is coming to Nintendo Switch. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:
“Command an army in strategic, turn-based combat as a tactical adviser for the Orange Star Army. Your expertise is needed as you move land, air, and naval units across the battlefield,” the Nintendo eShop page shares. “Take down enemy squads and capture towns and bases to secure victory and keep the peace. Keep an eye on the game-changing terrain and weather as you lead a variety of units across multiple maps. This remake features two campaigns that cover the events of Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising!”
On Monday, WayForward also made its own announcement. In that, the developer will be officially working on sequel River City Girls 2 and prequel River City Girls Zero. You can read the full report by heading here.
