Like clockwork, annual announcements from the largest video game studios and publishers are rolling out throughout the course of the summer. Thanks to the culture shift for livestreamed shows in the past year, many events are fairly divided without the structure of E3 to contain it all into one week now. What is anticipated is the coming EA Play Live scheduled for next Thursday.

In that, Electronic Arts plans to expand on its projects like Apex Legends and the upcoming Battlefield 2042, it already confirmed. But, there are other projects that many are hoping to be present. For one, there is a lingering rumor of EA Motive’s Dead Space remake that continues to hover over our heads. According to GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb, the game is to be revealed at the July show.

But before more can be speculated, Electronic Arts on its respected Star Wars Twitter page confirms no new announcements from the film franchise will be shared at next week’s showcase.

There was some speculation as to what could be revealed if it was to happen. With that, there is the inevitable sequel to Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Previously, it was reported that the follow-up is to ship in 2022. However, if it’s similar to the first game in how it was unveiled, then the reveal and launch will be held the same year it appears for now.

Elsewhere, it was rumored that a new entry for Star Wars: Force Unleashed was in development as well. Originally, it was speculated that EA Motive would be working on the long-awaited sequel. But, the Vancouver team in a separate statement later on confirmed it is working on something – and that it is not pertaining to the Star Wars IP.

Additionally, there is the Massive Entertainment Star Wars RPG that was announced most recently. But, the project is in very early development and is understood that it will not be present at this year’s EA Play Live. What is likely to show its face is the already announced Madden NFL 22 & FIFA 22 which was revealed in the past week.

What are you hoping to be shown at EA Play Live?

EA Play Live is scheduled to take place on July 22, 2021.
