From developer Frogwares, the team responsible for the Sherlock Holmes titles has been away from the franchise for nearly half a decade now. With the last release taking place back in 2016 with Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter, the Ukrainian developer went on to deliver The Sinking City in 2019. Following, it was not until last year that Frogwares unveiled Sherlock Holmes will be returning with the announcement of Sherlock Holmes Chapter One.
While many are familiar with the adventures and stories of the recognized detective, there are fewer details on the story about Holmes’ origin story. So taking the series over to Cordona, Frogwares reveals the new passage is to hit new and old platforms soon. A later gameplay trailer for the game revealed a 2021 release is aimed for the new project.
In that latest gameplay trailer for the game is where Frogwares announces Sherlock Holmes Chapter One is set to be delivered later this November. However, it is only coming to PC alongside Xbox Series & PlayStation 5 systems. You can watch the newest trailer in the video below:
“In Sherlock Holmes Chapter One we tell the story of a young Sherlock Holmes before he becomes the world-famous detective. On the outside, he’s a young, confident, maybe even borderline cocky man who is still trying to figure out who he really is,” Frogwares Head of Production Serge Chervonnyi shares. “His life purpose is still not known. Now, what happened in his life that turned him into this antisocial genius? What events shaped him into the character that we now know and love.”
For Sherlock Holmes Chapter One, it will be the first release outside of its publishing agreement with Focus Home Interactive. Previously, upon its legal ties ending, the publisher decided to pull the studio’s releases from storefronts as the developer decided to work independently.
