While Capcom is recognized for billboard franchises such as Mega Man and Devil May Cry, the publisher truly established itself with the Street Fighter IP when it initially shipped as an arcade cabinet. Most recently, the firm went on to deliver the fifth entry as a PlayStation 4 exclusive back in 2016 alongside PC. However, a new mainline installment has been absent for more than half a decade.

In the meantime, Capcom has collaborated to deliver the likeness of its characters to other established titles. Previously, Capcom did lend its hand to Nintendo for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate introducing both Ryu alongside Ken. Additionally, Ryu & Chun-Li also made an appearance as playable characters for Brawlhalla in a later collaboration. Even Fortnite featured the pair as cosmetic skins too.

This week, Capcom in a scheduled countdown has officially revealed Street Fighter 6. More information is to be shared later this summer.  You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:

From the footage, it is evident we only received a cinematic presentation that does not illustrate how the actual game will be portrayed. Currently, we learned that both Ryu and Luke are confirmed for the roster. This will mark the first game with Yoshiniro Oro to be absent from the development for more than two decades. He announced his departure from Capcom back in August 2020.

However, there are some surprising announcements in terms of staffing. Yusuke Hashimoto (Bayonetta 2 Game Director) and Capcom Producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya both announced to be working on the new game. Noted, the game prior to its announcement has been reported to return to Xbox once more from a surfaced leak uncovered last year. You can read the full report by heading here.

Street Fighter 6 currently has no listed release date nor what platforms it will support.
