Nintendo announced today that a Live-Action Film of The Legend of Zelda will be happening with it being produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad, Chairman of Arad Productions Inc., who is known for producing many big films.

The Legend of Zelda film will be directed by Wes Ball and it will be co-financed by Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., with Nintendo financing more than 50% of it. Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. will handle the theatrical distribution of the movie.

Avi Arad is behind films like Morbius, Uncharted, Venom, The Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man and many others. The news is quite interesting with Nintendo partnering with Sony who have been a worthy competitor in the gaming space with PlayStation.

Video game movies have become more of a regular occurrence now with the Super Mario Bros. Movie being one of them this year from Nintendo and Illumination.

Who do you think should cast as Link in The Legend of Zelda movie?
