In online gaming for just over half a decade now has been a talking point for in-game purchases. While at one point there was a greater concern for predatory microtransactions as well as pay-to-win items that brought an unfair wave of advantages to the lobbies, that has been done away over due time. And yet, there are still other considerable titles that reassure there is no catch when playing new games.

Previously, we saw this with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Upon discovering that the new Arkhamverse game is entertaining live-service for the online co-op title, it was said that internal plans wanted the game to feature only cosmetic add-ons alongside its battle pass & seasons. And now with the approaching release for Firewalk Studios’ Concord, that concern is back once again.

When speaking to Video Game Chronicle, it is confirmed that in-game purchases will only revolve around cosmetics – nothing more. “There are purely cosmetic pieces that you can choose to further customize the look of your character, that you can choose to purchase. Those do not affect gameplay. We believe so strongly that the full experience should be available to all of our players,” director of IP Kim Kreines told.

Concord is the second in what will be a pattern of live-service titles pushed by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Alike Helldivers 2, this effort is encapsulated into a premium experience offered to PlayStation as well as PC. In that, just like the Arrowhead Game Studio title, Concord will also be priced at $40; presuming more of these titles will be met with the same price point.

Recently, Firewalk Studios shared that its scheduled betas for Concord is to start next week. On July 12th, the closed beta will be live until the 14th. Then July 18th to July 21st will be the timeframe for the open beta. You can read the full report by heading here.
