To Ubisoft, For Honor has remained a pillar IP live-service that stands for roughly a decade. Amid the poor releases of Rainbow Six Siege & Watch Dogs at the time, For Honor stood among those feeling the most atone to its promises. In our technical review upon the release of Marching Fire, Rectify Gaming wrote: “Ubisoft have reinvented the genre with For Honor, it is not like those forefathers but certainly has its roots in them.”

Entering the new console lifespan, For Honor came with new features. In 2022, Year 6 implemented cross-play for the full game. Now, players across all systems can battle amongst its counterparts. What’s more, 2024 brought new milestones for the game. This January, Ubisoft announced over 35 million users played For Honor.

In a new finding online recently, it appears Ubisoft is ramping up to make a proper sequel to For Honor. With about a decade of operating, a new installment is welcomed to say the least. Via Tech4Gamers forum, user cindiestarlight uncovered a job posting for the series. “Work with the creative director and other core team members to define the game and unify your visions,” the description lists.

Given that the job listing is for a game director implies that whom ever takes the helm is to overlook a massive project that is coming into form. Adding to this, there is also a separate role for a product manager (marketing) which was filled according to the website. The posting also listed ‘[For Honor project]’ which further entertains a new game is likely in Ubisoft’s playbook.

What’s more interesting is the future plans Ubisoft is introducing to its new titles. At least in tests via Trackmania, Ubisoft is bolstering resources for real-time advertisements in its games. The initiative is part of a collaboration with Anzu. You can read the full report by heading here.

Do you hope a new For Honor game releases?
