Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Trailer Shows Off Keanu Reeve’s Shadow The Hedgehog

Up until recently, updates for the Sonic the Hedgehog live-action films only resided towards the Knuckles show. Despite the six-episode series releasing earlier this spring, updates on the third film still expected to release this December remained limited. One aspect is the casting for Shadow the Hedgehog. In April, it was reported that Keanu Reeves (John Wick, The Matrix) is to voice the Ultimate Lifeform. 

But Paramount Studios never officially confirmed this. It wasn’t until this past week where the official Tiktok account for Sonic the Hedgehog movie confirmed Reeve’s casting for the character. What’s more, it was also indicated that the first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 would officially be held on August 27th this Tuesday.

And in the morning, Paramount Studios released the trailer to the world revealing the plot for Sonic the Hedgehog 3. You can watch the trailer in the video below:

From what can be gathered from the near 3 minute-long trailer is that Shadow the Hedgehog unleashes his power to the world and results in Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles to partner with Dr. Robotnik. And while other Sonic characters like Amy or Rouge are not features, the end of the trailer does reveal that Gerald Robotnik is present. There is also a glimpse revealing the iconic Chaos as well, but only briefly.

What’s exciting is the list of elements taken directly from Sonic Adventure 2 to influence Sonic the Hedgehog 3. For this production and those that follow, there is a list of titles that will be used and it includes Sonic Unleashed, Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), and even Sonic Heroes.
