
After years of waiting, Netflix officially released Devil May Cry on its platform in 2025. The show arrived with only a slim 8 episodes, but showed to be a massive impact for the franchise following its release. It was reported that Devil May Cry generated over 3 million units sold since the show aired within a handful of months.
Additionally, Devil May Cry V also passed a milestone in that same timeframe. The 2019 title overcame more than 10 million units sold. The show’s impact has proven to be eventful to say the least. So when it was revealed that a second season was on the way to release in May this year, it was no question there are plenty looking forward to the story from Asi Shakar.
Now on Thursday this week, Netflix officially revealed that the series has been greenlit for another season. Season Three will be the last of the series.

“For those of you who have been paying attention to the episode names, I have been showing you the structure the entire time,” Shakar shared in the letterhead. “These three seasons make up ‘The Force Edge Saga.’ Since inception, ‘The Force Edge Saga’ was designed as a movie trilogy disguised as a television series. According to one interview, Shakar did express a decade of releases is possible for the Netflix show.
“There’s two separate things. There’s my imagination, and there’s the reality of the universe. In my head, I’ve had this all figured out. In a situation where someone locks me in a dungeon and makes me crank out Devil May Cry for the next 10 years, I do have it figured out,” Shakar said to What’s On Netflix. “Doesn’t mean that that’s what will happen, but I do kind of have a plan, with all this.” evidently, it will only spin into a trilogy.
Looking ahead this year, Devil May Cry V will be releasing on new hardware. Through store listings, it was revealed that the game is launching for Nintendo Switch 2 later in August this summer. You can read the full report by heading here.
