Probably Ubisoft’s more popular IP, Assassin’s Creed is nowhere from ceasing the momentum it has on the industry. With the release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage last fall, players are always hungry to learn what the next game is. Upon revealing Assassin’s Creed Shadows, it felt prayers were answered with the next title being set in Feudal Japan. But in September the publisher revealed the game is now coming in February 2025 in a sudden delay.
However, there is more than on the surface. Hard to keep from leaking out, a remake for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag unearthed online revealing a updated return of the 2013 title is underway. What’s more, there is more on the way as well in that vein. CEO Yves Guillemot shared that plans for remakes in the IP are already being considered internally at Ubisoft.
Now according to a recent report from InsiderGaming, Assassin’s Creed has about 10 titles planned to release in the coming future. Of course, this is stated to be affected by the recent delay for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. However, it was tipped that the alleged Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake is closer to being released than anticipated. The outlet was shown a demo of the game with an updated look of the Anvil Engine.
So what other titles are on the horizon? Well, Assassin’s Creed Jade is still underway for mobile devices. Additionally, the other incubator project ‘Codename Hexe’ is currently being worked on as well. InsiderGaming in the past also reported that Ubisoft shared a new effort for a second Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR project. But, the current retention of virtual reality could have affected that being greenlit.
All in all, this is only corroborating what Ubisoft has shared in the past. As part of an earnings call back in May 2023, the publisher is bolstering its staffing for Assassin’s Creed.
