The wait is almost over for fans who have been waiting a couple of years for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 to hit theaters. It has been slightly over 2 years since Sonic 2 released which then set up the third film with Shadow the Hedgehog.

Ahead of Sonic 3’s release critics have already watched the movie and given their reviews. With over 51 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is rated 86%. This is before the Popcornmeter goes live where the public can give their thoughts which is sometimes more telling how a movie can be.

Sonic 3 currently has a strong lead over Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King, which has a 59% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

In other Sonic news, Happy Meal toys at McDonald’s are now available for a limited time featuring the main cast of characters such as Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails. Beware of leaks if you haven’t seen Sonic 3 yet as the post-credit scene that reveals a new character has been leaked.
