Although it was a poorly kept secret, the official arrival for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has surely remained an energetic launch for the game. With almost 20 years behind the original release, a refreshed return to the 2006 title with an Unreal Engine 5 makeover to say the least has been a welcomed one.

Already, the game has surged immensely in popularity. On Friday, Bethesda confirmed that the game has already reached more than 4 million players since shipping on Thursday. However, there is still more for the game. Elsewhere this week, there has been continued chatter for a Nintendo Switch 2 version for the new remaster sometime in the near future.

Additionally, there are chances for more dated releases from Bethesda Game Studios’ repertoire that are on the way as well. According to leaker NateTheHate, the next game to ship with the same ‘Remastered’ treatment that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion faced is Fallout 3. Although not providing when, he does express that it is coming.

“It’ll be a while before we see it,” the leaker told one user on a thread on xcancel. Moreover, his comment does also happen to corroborate on previous findings surrounding Bethesda. Amid the Activision Blizzard acquisition, new details emerged on the previous ZeniMax deal that listed titles like Dishonored 3, GhostWire Tokyo 2, and a remaster for Fallout 3.

But, what should be considered is the likeliness of the game coming to fruition. That is due to the decision on behalf of Microsoft over the past year. In spring 2024 it was revealed that developers Arkane Austin, Alpha Dog Games, Tango Gameworks, and Roundhouse Studios were to close. Two of which were probably behind the work on both a new Dishonored & GhostWire Tokyo. You can read the full report by heading here.

Are you hopeful Fallout 3 gets an Unreal Engine 5 remaster?
