In the realm of tactical shooters, the variety in more titles of this first-person subgenre is fairly airtight. As of recently, Ubisoft did brush off its Rainbow Six IP with a new entry. Earlier in June, the publisher launched Rainbow Six Siege X – a proper follow-up to the original Rainbow Six Siege. The game is already available across both consoles & PC.
Additionally, there is the more underground Ready or Not from Void Interactive. With only a PC release back in 2023, the game has slowly gained momentum online. And this week, the tactical SWAT shooter is finally shipping for both Xbox as well as PlayStation. You can watch the launch trailer in the video below:
“Out now, Ready or Not tasks players to become an elite SWAT commander and bring order to a city overwhelmed by chaos and corruption. Players lead a team of highly-trained SWAT officers through unpredictable high-risk missions against ruthless criminals to prevent the city from spiralling into disorder. Equip real-world weapons and gear to tackle missions inspired by current events against Los Sueňos’ ruthless criminal element,” the synopsis provides.
“Ready or Not will feature “18 single-player or online cooperative missions with up to five players, 2 new missions as part of the Los Sueños Stories free DLC update. 2 DLC’s that introduce 6 additional levels, and in Dark Waters DLC the UH-60 support Helicopter. Dozens of options to customize a player’s entire SWAT team including armour, weapons, apparel, and more. Immersive tactical gameplay, full flexibility of approach, and authentic equipment that SWAT teams utilize in the field.”
On PC, the content that is presented for console users will be offered as a free update with the new Xbox & PlayStation versions. Come August 8th, a physical version for both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 will be available for purchase. Alongside the game’s arrival, both ‘Dark Waters’ & ‘Home Invasion’ DLCs are also available for purchase.
