Where To Find Moorwing

Moorwing is one of the deadliest bosses in Hollow Knight Silksong, who is located in the bottom left of Greymoor. Enemies are lurking in this area that can attack and kill you in the first place. There will also be enemies armed with scissors who will come from the platforms and jump on you to deal massive damage. Make your way into the Chapel of the Reaper before encountering the boss. Acquire the Reaper Crest from the Chapel of the Reaper. You can use this in the fight to dominate the Moorwing, giving you an upper hand.

Move straight to the Moorwing after obtaining the Reaper Crest. You can equip tools to your newfound Crest by moving back to the Halfway Home in the middle of Greymoor. Equip the Straight Pin or the Warding Bell to deal with the boss in both of its phases. You can add more items to this Crest if you have Memory Lockets.

You can go through multiple air vents up and out of the top right of the Far Fields before entering Greymoor. Acquire the Drifter’s Clock from Pilgrim’s Rest and move upward to enter the boss’s region. Move to the left side of this area to encounter Moorwing.

We recommend you find the bench to save the game and acquire Hunter’s Journal by speaking with the Nuu. Pass through different rooms after moving to the left. At the end, you need to fall into the area. Here, you will encounter two Pilgrim enemies that are already waiting for you.

Continue moving to the left till you reach a point where you must drop down. Now, move to the right and drop down to enter the room filled with water. Keep moving to the left till you find yourself in the boss arena.

How To Defeat Moorwing in Hollow Knight: Silksong

Moorwing in Hollow Knight Silksong is not a difficult boss, but it does have some tricky stuff, mainly in the second phase. He will shriek and then move forward a little bit and slash a bunch in the first attack. If you get caught by this attack, you can take two masks of damage. You need to just keep away from it for the most part. Wait for him to do something that’s not this, so you can jump and attack him. You can definitely jump over it and attack him as well, or hit him with a spear or trap. Use the Dash, sprint, and Drifter’s Cloak to avoid the attacks and deal devastating damage. The boss has two different phases, and the second being the difficult can be a bit challenging.

Phase One

The fight takes place in a large area, providing you with more flexibility to come up with proper strategies. He performs a swooping attack at the start of the fight. You can simply jump over it and pogo attack to deal massive damage. The bosses also use some fast-paced attacks that you can avoid by dodging them. Getting caught in these attacks will result in your sudden death. The boss’s stinger attacks do wo masks of damage. This attack can be easily avoided by dashing backward.

He also does a swoop, which so many enemies in this game do. You can kind of do a downward diagonal attack when he does that. The boss can also conjure up the little blades. As soon as you see him conjuring the blade, you have a lot of time to basically jump over it. All of this time, you need to be jumping towards him and attacking him while he’s doing this stuff. The best time to heal is when you stun the boss. After you deal a lot of damage, he’ll shriek and get into the second phase.

Phase Two

Moorwing can do everything he does in the first phase, but he’ll also mix it up and add another layer. In his first attack, he shoots a blade twice and wraps back around. You just have to be aware of that and jump over it at the right time. If you get hit by this attack, it will deal a lot of damage and combo you into more attacks. Just be ready for that second one, and it will come back like a boomerang.

The boss also launches two balls in the standard ball attack. Get ready after avoiding one, as the second one will arch back around. You can avoid this attack by simply doing two short jumps. Stay alert to the sneak attack by the blades that you just avoided. Make sure to learn the choreography of its blade attacks and avoid them at the right moment. Use the Reaper Crest in the fight because it allows you to unleash heavy, sweeping slashes while harvesting additional Silk.

Use the binding ability to go offensive, creating silk balls. This is more beneficial if you want enough silk for a quick heal. Be mindful of your jump and positioning to avoid the deadly attacks and counterattack to defeat Moorwing.

He goes up and then shrieks to shoot two blades that will arc down to you. You want to avoid the initial arc, but then on the ground, they will hit each other and bounce back. You just need to be aware of that second bounce, so jump over it. If you get a hit, you will not take much damage, but it will just combo you into his much bigger damage-dealing moves.

  • Single Gust- The boss summons a gust of wind that curves upward sometimes. You can simply jump over the gust to avoid this attack.

  • Double Gust- Summon a gust of wind and follow up with a second gust to loop back to its location. Short jump over the first gust and dodge the second one. The second one will loop back, so get ready to dodge.
  • Triple Gust- The gust can curve up after a medium distance. Jump over all three, and when the third gust closes, you need to dodge quickly.

Garmond and Zaza are the NPC duo that can help you win the fight against Moorwing. You can find this duo in a room available to the West of Greymoor. Garmond and Zaza will move to the entrance of Moorwing’s arena after you speak with them. They will offer you help in fighting against this boss. You need to lose a fight against this boss if this duo doesn’t appear there. Now, move to that area where you first encounter them and inform them.

Rewards

You will unlock the area to the left of Greymoor and a path leading into a new town hub. Retreat to the right of the boss arena to avoid the Moorwing fight. If you want to unlock the path leading left, then you must defeat this boss. Move to the left and jump up. You will find yourself in the left area of Greymoor. A cutscene will initiate after passing through a room filled with bells. You will now arrive in Haunted Bellhart right after the cutscene.
