The world of Microsoft Flight Simulator continues to reach new heights. Earlier last year, Asobo Studio celebrated the new milestone of 15 million players for the original game. Around the same time, it also was preparing the release for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 – a new experience that injects aviation roles & occupations to the core experience.

As for the base title, the developer has continued to support the game with its World Updates. For update XVIII, Asobo Studio welcomed new emphasis towards the DACH region (Deutschland, Austria, Confoederatio Helvetica). Additionally, World Update XIX went ahead painting a new picture for South America for nations like Brazil & Guiana.

Now this week, it was revealed at the Xbox Tokyo Game Show livestream that Microsoft Flight Simulator is welcoming its next World Update to Japan, again. Back in September 2020, the first World Update introduced was set in the region. You can read the list of highlighted points of interest below:

This week, it was revealed during the separate PlayStation State of Play that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is to arrive to PlayStation 5 this December. It was also shared that support for PlayStation VR 2 is to also ship later in 2026. You can read the full report by heading here.
