In just under two years, Bethesda’s Fallout has became a phenomenon beyond what just the games achieved. While already an enriching series in itself, the TV show that aired in 2024 has propelled the IP to new landscapes. On Fallout 76, the game was met with waves of players hungry to experience more of its universe.
As for the TV series, there are already plans for the series’ return this year. It was revealed earlier this summer that Fallout Season 2 will air on Amazon Prime Video this December. Gathered from what we know so far, expectations are to be exceeded. As worded by The Ghoul actor Walton Goggins, Season 2 and its “story takes it to a whole nother level.”
Recently, Bethesda announced that it will celebrate all things Fallout in its newly scheduled ‘Fallout Day Broadcast’ taking place next week. From the announcement post on X, the firm presses it will explore new things coming to “existing games”.
What is confirmed to his its current title, Fallout 76, is a crossover with the Amazon Prime series. It was announced that the next major addition – Burning Springs – is to branch out the current game with an entirely new region. Even more, the part that bridges the games with the live-action show is Walton Goggins will reprise his role as The Ghoul in the free update.
As for the future of the games, details remain light on the next mainline installment with The Elder Scrolls VI still ahead in line. What Bethesda did press on the games is modern ports. In 2024, Todd Howard in an interview with MrMattyPlays said that plans to revisit the classic RPGs for modern consoles was not in the cards. You can read the full report by heading here.
